With almost three-quarters of older people in the UK identifying as lonely and more than half of those saying they have never spoken to anyone about how they feel, fundraising for Best For Ages has never been more important.
As the fundraising arm of national charity MHA, Best For Ages offers people of all ages and abilities exciting and challenging opportunities to contribute towards a life free from isolation for the UK’s older generation – one of enjoyment where they can feel supported, able to contribute and connected in communities that care.
Every penny raised for Best For Ages will help older people to thrive, whether that's by attending one of 58 life-changing Live at Home schemes available across England, Scotland and Wales or through MHA's groundbreaking Music Therapy programmes for those living with dementia. Why Best For Ages?
We've been improving the lives of older people for almost 75 years. With your help, we will help many more.
The money you raise will go towards connecting older people in communities that care. From services like our Live at Home schemes across Great Britain that reduce loneliness and isolation for over 10,000 individuals to our groundbreaking Music Therapy for people living with dementia, every penny will make a difference to older people. Here are just some of the ways we'll spend your money.
Three great reasons to choose us...
£6 could help us deliver a week's Telebuddies service, providing a regular phone call to check on five isolated older people living alone.
£50 could train a volunteer befriender for an isolated older person, helping to reduce loneliness and isolation in their own home.
£180 could fund a Music Therapist for a day, working to reduce anxiety in four 1:1 sessions and one group session.
