Get your church involved in the Best Sunday For Ages

This year, we're making 11 June the Best Sunday for Ages. Formerly known as Methodist Homes Sunday, we're providing downloadable resources and asking churches across the country to come together to support older people by helping us to reduce loneliness and isolation.

The theme of worship for 2017 is Befriending Age and looks at ways in which we can help one another support older members of our church and society as well as learn from them how best to plan our own ageing journey.

By holding a Best Sunday for Ages Service, your church helps us to do practical things that help older people not just survive, but to thrive. Our fundraised income provides services that make a real difference to the quality of the lives of the people we serve. Our Chaplains who are a source of counsel, advice and guidance; our Music Therapists who can give someone with dementia the opportunity to express their feelings; and our Live at Home community based schemes who work to make sure people don’t become isolated or lonely in their own home.

We've collated a series of resources to help plan your service which we'll keep adding to in the run-up to 11 June. You can download and print as many as you need or, if you prefer, get in touch to order them through the post. To request a speaker for your service, order Gift Aid or collection envelopes or for more information contact Lesley France on 01332 296200 or email
