Spread The Word

1

£6 could help us deliver a week's Telebuddies service, providing a regular phone call to check on five isolated older people living alone.

2

£50 could train a volunteer befriender for an isolated older person, helping to reduce loneliness and isolation in their own home.

3

£180 could fund a Music Therapist for a day, working to reduce anxiety in four 1:1 sessions and one group session.

It’ll be alright on the night

Boost your fundraising, tell everyone about your challenge and spread the word about our vital work by publicising your efforts. Here are just a few tips.

1

Share updates and images on Twitter @BestForAges and tag them with #BestForAges

2

Share your story with a local newspaper to reach a wider audience. You can get in touch with our Press Team if you need help.

3

Inspire colleagues and get closer to your fundraising target by putting posters up in your workplace.

Spread the word and maximise your fundraising!

We've got lots of resources to help you hit your fundraising targets. To find out more, get in touch with the Fundraising Team.

Gift Aid

For every pound your supporters donate, we can claim an extra 25p from the taxman (provided they are a taxpayer at the time of their donation.) This can make a big difference in helping us to reduce loneliness and isolation in older age. Encourage your sponsors to confirm they’re happy for us to claim Gift Aid when they fill in your sponsorship form.

If they qualify for Gift Aid, all they have to do is fill in the sponsorship form fully and sign the Gift Aid box. It’s important to remember that we can only claim Gift Aid for donations. We can’t claim it for:
• raffle tickets
• entry to an event
• sponsorship from close family members for some challenge events
If you need any more information or have any questions, just get in touch.

Matched Funding

Some companies have a match-funding scheme which could double the amount you raise. Speak to your employer to see if you could take advantage of this.

Fundraising Online

Creating a fundraising page online can massively boost your sponsorship. Start by uploading a photo, sharing your reasons for fundraising and setting yourself a target.

A large opening donation can have an impact on the average amount the rest of your supporters donate - so ask a generous friend or family member to get things going!
