The Radisson Blu Hotel Stair Climb Challenge returns for it's second year!

Can you beat our 2016 winning time of 1.37 minutes?

 

Take on this exhilarating tower running challenge to the top of the tallest hotel in Bristol.

 

Consisting of 18 flights and 300 steps, the Radisson Blu Stair Climb Challenge is open to all abilities of fitness, and promises a great atmosphere, lots of cheering, spectacular views and an epic tower run. Take the stairs at your own pace or get competitive with your friends and colleagues.

 

First prize: Free meal for two at Collage Restaurant, Bristol

 

With places limited, this is a great opportunity to challenge yourself, have a fun day out and make a positive difference to the lives of older people facing loneliness and isolation across the UK.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) 

  • The minimum age to take part in this event is 16 years of age, there is no upper limit

  • The stair climb will take place on the hour from 12pm - 4pm

  • You can choose a preferred time slot and will we endeavour to find the nearest time available

  • Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for the event

  • You will need to arrive 15 minutes prior to your time slot to register.

how your money helps

By fundraising for Best For Ages, you are helping to connect older people in communities that care. Every penny of your donation will go further to reduce loneliness and isolation across the UK as well as funding award-winning music therapy in our dementia care homes.

 

1

£6 could help us deliver a week's Telebuddies service, providing a regular phone call to check on five isolated older people living alone.

2

£50 could train a volunteer befriender for an isolated older person, helping to reduce loneliness and isolation in their own home.

3

£180 could fund a Music Therapist for a day, working to reduce anxiety in four 1:1 sessions and one group session.

Gift Aid

If you're a UK tax payer you can Gift Aid your donations, making them worth 25% more to us, at no extra cost to you.

 

We can claim back the tax you have paid on your donation (25p for every £1 you donate) through Gift Aid.

 

This additional income really does make a big difference, so please don't forget to Gift Aid donations if you are a UK tax payer.

 

If you are a higher-rate tax payer you can also claim additional tax relief. For higher rate tax payers (paying tax at 40%) this works out as 25p for every £1 you donate and for the highest rate tax payers (paying tax at 50%) this works out as 37.5p for every £1 you donate.

Matched Funding

Some companies have a match-funding scheme which could double the amount you raise. Speak to your employer to see if you could take advantage of this.

 

Fundraising Online

Creating a fundraising page online can massively boost your sponsorship. Start by uploading a photo, sharing your reasons for fundraising and setting yourself a target.

 

A large opening donation can have an impact on the average amount the rest of your supporters donate - so ask a generous friend or family member to get things going!
