Great North Run

Join almost 60,000 runners and secure your charity place in the world's biggest half marathon to help stamp out loneliness in later life!

The Great North Run, as the name suggests, is great in every sense. It’s an exhilarating and memorable challenge - one that is sure to leave you with a fantastic sense of achievement.

It is, without exception, the world's greatest half marathon as you and almost 60,000 other runners line up in the centre of Newcastle and head out through Gateshead and South Tyneside before arriving - sufficiently pleased with yourself and, quite probably, exhausted - in South Shields.

Our Regional Chaplain Cliff Jackson completed the 2017 Great North Run for MHA in a fantastic 2 hours and 52 seconds. On crossing the finish line, Cliff said: "With the Red Arrows above me and the warm and welcoming Newcastle crowds around me, the run went by quicker than I'd expected. My daughter was there to meet me with a big hug and a warm fleece. Who's going to join me in 2018?"

A large opening donation can have an impact on the average amount the rest of your supporters donate - so ask a generous friend or family member to get things going!

Matched funding
